EEI provided a complete suite of environmental site investigation, consulting, and field remediation oversight needed to investigate and remediate this former century-old hospital site in Riverside. The project was complicated by a number of factors, including the interaction of a large private company and a public agency, the presence of free-product and dissolved groundwater impact that had been hidden by buildings, a very short mitigation timeframe, and a small footprint to work in. Even with all these impediments, EEI was able to work with all parties to investigate the site during demolition and grading; wrote and implemented an agency-approved Remedial Action Plan in record time, conducted bioremediation of 5,000 cy of diesel contaminated soils, and mitigated groundwater. The site was redeveloped and acted as a springboard for revitalization of the local area.
