Riverside General Hospital
EEI provided a complete suite of environmental site investigation, consulting, and field remediation oversight needed to investigate and remediate this former century-old hospital site in Riverside. The project was complicated by a number of factors, including: the interaction of a large private company and a public agency; the presence of free-product and dissolved groundwater impact that had been hidden by buildings; a very short mitigation timeframe; and a small footprint to work in. Even with all these impediments, EEI was able to work with all parties to investigate the site during demolition and grading, wrote and implemented an agency-approved Remedial Action Plan in record time, conducted bioremediation of 5,000 cy of diesel contaminated soils, and mitigated groundwater. The site was redeveloped and acted as a springboard for revitalization of the local area.
