Uptown Newport

Since early 2015, EEI has been the Geotechnical Engineer of Record on the 1200-unit “Uptown Newport” multi-use, multi-family property in Newport Beach, California, developed by Shopoff Land Fund. The 25-acre project is located in the John Wayne Airport area in Orange County. After completion of the two-phase project in 2021, the village will also include two community parks and about 11,500 square feet of retail space.

In addition to engineering, pavement design recommendations, and Geotechnical Testing and Observation (T & O) services during earthwork – Phase 1 rough grading and Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) retaining wall construction by the Mark Company, EEI provided the initial Phase 1 ESA due diligence and took over Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) Operations and Maintenance (O & M) remediation of a 20-year old solvent release related to historical manufacturing on part of the site.
